Holocaust Remembrance Day

With January 27 being International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day on which the victims of the Holocaust are honored, Atkins High School students are encouraged to learn more about the stories of its survivors through one of multiple courses in which they are a focus. Elie Wiesel’s Night is included in the English II curriculum, which provides a vivid description of the horrific conditions experienced by those imprisoned during the Holocaust. A semester-long course dedicated to the Holocaust and subsequent genocides is also offered at Atkins HS as an elective, and additional resources relating to the Holocaust can be found in the Atkins HS Media Center and Room 501.
