Judging has concluded for the regional level of the 2025 North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities Art Showcase Competition, and eight Atkins HS students have been selected to advance to the state level of the competition. Artists at Atkins have created original artworks inspired by “The Sound of Silence” (originally composed by Simon & Garfunkel and later performed by Disturbed) in a variety of areas, and their creations will be displayed during the upcoming Art Showcase Event.
The Atkins HS state finalists for the 2025 Art Showcase are: Delaina Contreras-Panzo (Printmaking), Anastasya Booth (Digital), Dawnica Baker (Photo), Evelyn Asbury (Mixed Media), Zaya McFarland (Drawing), Olivia Braun (Sculpture), Skylar Holmes (Painting), & Phoebe Dell’Arena (Collage). The pieces created by these artists will be on display at Atkins for the Art Showcase Event and Award Ceremony beginning at 3:30 p.m. on February 1, 2025.
