Atkins Academic & Technology High School

Atkins HS students searching for an opportunity to express their creativity, regardless of enrollment in a visual arts course, are invited to participate in creating an artwork responding to the 2024-2025 prompt provided by the North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities (NCASA). The prompt relates to the song “The Sound of Silence” as performed by Simon & Garfunkel and Disturbed. Various mediums are available for students to select, including drawing, printmaking, painting, and sculpture. Submissions will first be judged at the school level, with winners in each category advancing to the State Finals. Additional information regarding the Art Showcase competition can be found in the 100 Hallway by the entrance to Room 104, and all students have the chance to represent Atkins by expressing their interpretation of the prompt.
