FAFSA

Following the delay of the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from the initially intended date of October 1, high school seniors across the nation were unable to begin their FAFSA for the 2025-2026 year. An announcement made within the last week signaled the opening of the FAFSA to students following a brief beta period, and seniors are encouraged to create their Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID and begin the FAFSA as soon as possible. The FSA ID allows applicants to complete their FAFSA, which offers the opportunity for prospective college students to receive financial aid in the form of grants and loans. Atkins HS and Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools hope to ensure that all students are either employed, enrolled, or enlisted following graduation, and the FAFSA can provide needed support to enroll in higher education.
