At this year's Letterman Celebration, Atkins and Citadel graduate Aidan Brady was inducted into the Atkins Letterman Hall of Fame in the area of JROTC. He was inducted by Dr. Maj. (RET) Rodney Wallace. Here is more information about one of our newest HOF inductees:
1LT Aidan Brady is a native of Winston Salem NC and a 2018 graduate of Atkins High School. While at Atkins, 1LT Brady was very active with the school’s JROTC program as well as Science Olympiad. In August of 2018, 1LT Brady started college at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, where he obtained a B.A in Political Science and a Minor in German. While in college, he enlisted in the S.C Army National Guard, serving as an 09R, and was very active in various organizations across campus, namely the Regimental Pipes and Drums, where he was a Grade IV bagpiper and the Grade V Pipe Major. Following graduation in May of 2022, he commissioned into the U.S Army as an Active-Duty Armor Officer and reported to Ft. Benning (Moore), GA. While at Ft. Moore, LT Brady completed the Armor Officer Basic Leader Course (ABOLC) and the U.S Army’s premier reconnaissance school, Scout Leader Course (SLC), as well as various other schools. Upon completion of training at Ft. Moore, LT Brady was stationed with the 101st ABN DIV (AASLT), at Ft. Campbell, KY, where he has served as a scout platoon leader with Bonecrusher Troop, 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment. Outside of the Army, LT Brady is very active in the community, helping his soldiers develop life skills and principles, and continues to enjoy hobbies such as muay thai fighting, boxing, competitive shooting, and fitness.
