Our class was learning about authority figures and what it means to vote during the months of August and September. Students in our class prepared ballots to send around the school for all students to have the chance to vote. The school voted between two colors, red and blue. After creating the ballots, our class went around to each classroom to deliver and then pick up the completed ballots. At the end of the week, our class was able to count the votes and make a display of the results. The results were posted in our school hallway for all to see! It was determined that the winner of the school's favorite color was red. This was only by one vote - 44 blue and 45 red! Students in our class got to experience what an election would be like in our school community. They learned the importance of voting and making sure everyone's voice was heard!
