Our Fifth Graders performed two selections of Reader's Theater for the school on December 19th: The Grinch and The Christmas Carol. Ms. Phillips, the fifth-grade reading teacher, stated that they were working on plays in their class when the students asked if they would be allowed to perform them for the rest of the school. Ms. Phillips thought it was an excellent idea and set the plan in motion.
The students practiced in their classes for a few weeks and decided how to enhance their performances. Zoila Arredondo took on the role of the Grinch during the reading. She brought a unique to the role with her voice for the Grinch. It was very Grinchy! During the reading of The Christmas Carol, they added songs that the audience could sing along with to feel like they were part of the show!
All of our Fifth Graders did a wonderful job in both performances!
