AP Calculus AB
Welcome to Advanced Placement Calculus AB! I have great expectations for a year of awesome mathematic accomplishments. As recommended by The College Board, this calculus course will be taught on a college level. Students who have a solid foundation in the math courses taken prior to calculus should be able to handle the rigor of the course taught at that level. Because students are expected to be independent learners, this course can be both challenging and demanding. This course emphasizes a multi-representational approach to functions in that concepts, results, and problems are expressed graphically, numerically, analytically, and verbally. The connections among these representations are important as we prepare our students for exemplary performance on the AP Calculus Exam given in the month of May. This course provides the following assessments: quizzes, Unit Tests, formative assessments, Mid-Term, and a Course Final Exam (different from the AP Exam).
