The annual G4C Student Challenge is a national game design competition that challenges middle and high school students to design and code games about real-world issues. Students enter their original games and compete to win awesome prizes including games, technology, and a $1,000 Grand Prize Scholarship!  Finalists showcase their games and winners are revealed during celebratory awards ceremonies at the end of the school year.

The Club is advised by Game Design teacher Jeff Rodgers and will meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Jeff Rodgers

Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Sonoran Desert lies a small, unregarded Arizona town. That’s where Jeff Rodgers spent most of his formative years. He moved on to 18 years in Texas (enjoying the world’s best barbeque and learning Spanish) before moving to Winston-Salem in 2018.

He has a fondness for adventure, including experience as a zombie, pirate, renaissance actor, and two years as a dedicated traveler. Professionally, he worked as a business development and marketing manager for over 15 years, focusing on human-centered design and digital integration.

He received his B.A. in IT Management from Western Governors University and is currently pursuing his M.A. Teaching at North Carolina A&T. He has been a Scout leader for over a decade and enjoys camping, road trips, and learning new stuff.
