2025 JROTC Military Ball

The WS/FCS JROTC Military Ball, held last Friday evening, brought together cadets from across the district in a night of honor, tradition, and celebration. The annual event recognized the achievements and dedication of JROTC programs while upholding the time-honored customs of military service.

From the official receiving line to the solemn recitation of the Cadet Creed, attendees participated in military traditions with the utmost respect. Highlights of the evening included the presentation of colors, the recognition of fallen service members, the ceremonial cutting of the cake, and the formal presentation of awards.

A special highlight of the night was the keynote address by Army Captain Timothy Behnke, a former East Forsyth High School Cadet and Brigade Commander. His words resonated deeply with the cadets and guests as he shared his journey from WS/FCS JROTC to a career in military service.

Lt. Colonel John O. Brown led the awards presentations, joined by WS/FCS Superintendent Tricia McManus. Among the evening’s top honorees were Reagan High School’s Air Force JROTC, the county’s only Air Force program, and West Forsyth High School’s Army JROTC, both receiving awards for their outstanding performance. Additionally, East Forsyth High School’s Cadet Gaida Smith was awarded the Director of Army Instruction’s Coin of Excellence for winning this year’s essay contest.

The evening concluded with the traditional exiting of the colors and the formal departure of the head table, marking the end of another memorable celebration of leadership, discipline, and excellence within the WS/FCS JROTC community.

WS/FCS and the JROTC Program sincerely appreciate the Greek Orthodox Church for their ongoing support and generosity in hosting the annual JROTC Military Ball.
