The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Board of Education has canceled a special called meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. The meeting was originally called to discuss adding extra minutes to the school day to accommodate recent and possible future weather delays and closures. Instead, a survey will be sent to district families and staff to gather public opinion about ways to make up missed days due to weather.
Following the survey, discussion about adding extra minutes to the school day will now take place at the board’s regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Education Building at 4801 Bethania Station Road in Winston-Salem.
The facilities and capacity workshop with district staff is still scheduled for Tuesday, January 21 at 9:00 a.m. in room 223 of the WS/FCS Education Building.
On Wednesday, January 22, the board will meet with local legislators in a collaborative leadership meeting. This will take place in room 233 of the Education Building at 8:30 a.m.
Once posted, meeting agendas can be found under the Meetings tab at the top of the Board of Education webpage or via this link.
