Today WS/FCS faced a high number of bus driver absences. District leaders have been told to expect that a group of drivers will call out of work again tomorrow, November 25.
The Transportation Department will continue to work diligently to fill these vacancies, but families should know there will likely be delays on some routes on Tuesday. Families may elect to bring their child to school. As with today, no student will be marked tardy or face penalties due to transportation delays.
District leaders met with drivers last week to hear their concerns about behavior on buses, pay and communication. They have laid out ways to address these challenges in the coming weeks and months.
WS/FCS is committed to resolving these concerns and getting bus drivers back to work. We are sorry that families are facing this inconvenience. Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this situation.
