Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools has named Dr. Angela Monell as the new Director of School Improvement for the Northern Area.
She received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. She has a Master’s in Education from Bowie State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Towson State University.
Monell is in her 26th year in education, having started in Silver Spring, Maryland. She became a teacher in Indian Trail, NC in 2008. She joined WS/FCS in 2014 as a teacher at Hanes Magnet Middle School. She was an assistant principal and principal in Guilford County Schools from 2016 to 2024 before returning to WS/FCS.
Monell is a national trainer in restorative practices and has licensures in school administration, academically and intellectually gifted students, and exceptional children.
She began her new role on September 23.
