PT Team

The WSFCS physical therapy team is composed of seven licensed physical therapists, one licensed physical therapist assistant, and one EC technician, with a combined total of 140 years of experience. We currently serve 248 students in schools throughout the district and homebound locations.

Our mission is to work collaboratively with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team, as well as community equipment and service providers, to promote independence and participation for our exceptional students.

As school-based physical therapists, we work with students directly on motor skills to improve their mobility and independence within the school setting. We modify environments and activities and use adapted equipment for access and participation. We consult with teachers and other school staff about facility planning, transition planning, and transportation to facilitate students’ participation in class and school activities.

The physical therapy team also works to identify and address architectural barriers, plan for modifications and new construction, consult on recreational areas, and develop and train staff on safety programs such as lifting and transferring. We enjoy serving as a resource for task forces and teams across the district.

If you have any questions regarding a student or how we can help, you can find physical therapy team information on the WS/FCS Exceptional Children Canvas page under EC Related, Itinerant & Support Services.
