Know The Warning Signs
Common signs of a victim:
Unexplained injuries
Lost or destroyed belongings (clothing, jewelry, books, electronics)
Frequent headaches or stomach aches, feeling sick or faking illness
Changes in eating habits, skipping meals or binging (due to missed meals)
Difficulty sleeping or frequent nightmares
Declining grades, loss of interest in schoolwork, not wanting to go to school
Sudden loss of friends or avoidance of social situations
Feelings of helplessness or decreased self-esteem
Self-destructive behaviors (running away, harming oneself, suicidal thoughts)
Common signs of an offender:
Getting into physical or verbal fights
Has friends who bully others
Are increasingly aggressive
Frequently sent to principal's office
Have unexplained extra money or new belongings
Don't accept responsibility for their actions
Are competitive and worry about their popularity or reputation
