“The End of Bullying Begins With You”

Pacer's National Bullying Prevention Center has ideas for classrooms, groups, individuals, and communities to make a difference and change lives.

What can you do if you are being bullied?

Tell someone! It's not your fault.

  • No one deserves to be bullied. It is not your fault.

  • Keep yourself safe: Stay close to other kids or adults who will stick up for you. Stay in areas where you feel safe.

  • Use your words assertively, they can be disarming: "Stop."

  • Walk away. Don't fight back. It could escalate the situation. You could be seen as the instigator, or part of the problem.

  • Tell someone- a trusted teacher, a friend, a parent. It IS a big deal. You don't have to face it alone, you aren't alone. Find someone who will listen.

  • How can you enlist others to help? Start a school initiative with others, approach the school principal, link with bullying prevention organizations.

If you need a safe place to talk. If you feel helpless or hopeless, you are not alone. Tell someone.
