High School Education Exploration Courses
NC Teacher Cadet: Using a curriculum involving hands-on teaching methods and field experiences, the program is a structured course of study that gives students a positive and realistic view of the educational profession. Most importantly, the program encourages high school students to attend college and to eventually teach in North Carolina public schools. The curriculum contains content to span from one to four semesters, though most schools establish a Teacher Cadet I and II over a course of two semesters. In most schools, Teacher Cadet courses are offered as honors classes. Students may also qualify for college-level credit. For more information https://ncfpsc.org/teacher-cadet/.

Teaching as a Profession (Career & Technical Education): This 3-course progression is designed to encourage students to consider teaching as a career. Students are exposed to the many facets of education through class discussion, observation, and participation in public school classrooms. Students will examine their aptitudes for teaching, learner needs and development, including students with exceptionalities, and the history, trends, and governance of education. Students are eligible for articulated university credit upon successful completion of the Teaching as a Profession pathway.
