Becoming a Quality Colleague Teacher Leader

You should consider applying to Teacher Academy to give support as a Quality Colleague Teacher Leader if you are:
A classroom teacher wanting to help others be more impactful for all of our students.
Willing to travel to another school and work with another experienced teacher to set and achieve collaboratively set goals.
Capable of communicating effectively with a wide variety of school stake holders.
A champion for teaching and learning across our district.
And you have:
Three years of successful teaching in our district.
Ratings of proficient or higher on your most recent summative evaluation in all five standards, or standards 1-4 on an abbreviated cycle.
Recommendation from your principal.
What a Quality Colleague Teacher Leader does:
Works one on one with a teacher in another school with the goal of improving teaching practices.
Attends professional development throughout the school year.
Prepares and turns in all the proper documentation of meetings.
The Teacher Academy application process begins in February. Teacher Leaders who qualify are a part of both the Quality Colleague and Professional Development Pathways. If this sounds interesting to you or you would like more information, please Email Beth Ausley or Email Sally McCombs .
