You should consider applying to Teacher Academy to give support as a Quality Colleague Teacher Leader if you are:

  • A classroom teacher wanting to help others be more impactful for all of our students.

  • Willing to travel to another school and work with another experienced teacher to set and achieve collaboratively set goals.

  • Capable of communicating effectively with a wide variety of school stake holders.

  • A champion for teaching and learning across our district.

And you have:

  • Three years of successful teaching in our district.

  • Ratings of proficient or higher on your most recent summative evaluation in all five standards, or standards 1-4 on an abbreviated cycle.

  • Recommendation from your principal.

What a Quality Colleague Teacher Leader does:

  • Works one on one with a teacher in another school with the goal of improving teaching practices.

  • Attends professional development throughout the school year.

  • Prepares and turns in all the proper documentation of meetings.

The Teacher Academy application process begins in February. Teacher Leaders who qualify are a part of both the Quality Colleague and Professional Development Pathways. If this sounds interesting to you or you would like more information, please Email Beth Ausley or Email Sally McCombs .
