Becoming a Professional Development Teacher Leader

You should consider applying to Teacher Academy to give support as a Professional Development Teacher Leader if you are:
A classroom teacher that is motivated to lead groups of teachers in learning new and innovative practices.
Willing to plan professional development activities based on the needs of the district.
Willing to collaborate with other professional development leaders to create and develop presentations.
Capable of delivering effective learning content to adults online and face to face.
A champion for teaching and learning across our district.
And you have:
Three years of successful teaching in our district.
Ratings of proficient or higher on your most recent summative evaluation in all five standards, or standards 1-4 on an abbreviated cycle.
Recommendation from your principal.
What a Professional Development Teacher Leader does:
Works to create and possibly collaborate with other Teacher Leaders to deliver professional development across the district.
Attends professional development throughout the school year.
Prepares and turns in all the proper documentation of meetings.
The Teacher Academy application process begins in February. Teacher Leaders who qualify are part of both the Professional Development and Quality Colleague Pathways. If this sounds interesting to you or you would like more information, please Email Sally McCombs or Email Beth Ausley .
