Book Donation Policy

book donations

At this time, we are only able to accept copies of the books listed above. If you have additional good condition used books that you need to dispose of, we recommend the following options:

  1. If you are interested in selling books locally, McKay’s has a sell & trade program. Visit their website to learn more about what they accept and how to sell your books to them.

  2. PaperBack Swap is an online peer-to-peer book selling company. You can list books and sell directly through their website.

  3. Contact Ms. Edens, DTS counselor, to inquire about whether she needs books for the Little Free Library outside the school parking lot. You can email Ms. Edens

  4. Contact the Junior League of Winston-Salem’s BookWORM project about donating children’s books in gently used condition. They specifically need children’s books for third grade and younger, as well as bilingual books. They do not accept: adult books, religious books, encyclopedias, cook books, self-help books, romance novels, textbooks, or used coloring books. You may email book worm to coordinate a drop-off.

  5. If you want to donate a large quantity of a variety of books, Better World Books is a global company focused on improving literacy through a circular, environment-friendly book economy. They accept book donations of all conditions and interest levels, and will recycle books that cannot be resold or donated. Visit their website to find a drop box location (there are several in Raleigh) or explore other donation options.
