The Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem was founded by a group of parents whose children were being treated for cancer at Brenner's Children's Hospital.  The effort was led by Dick and Penny Latham.  The Latham's moved to Winston-Salem after commuting from Burlington, N.C., while their son, Alan was being treated for cancer.  When Alan passed away in 1980, at the age of three, the Latham's asked Alan's doctor what they could do to help other families and honor Alan.  Out of the conversations that followed the Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem, NC. was born.

Our Club's focus is on visiting the home to make and/or put together snacks for the families, and to ocassionally make them dinner.  We also take time to help decorate and/or throw holiday parties.  In between holidays we collect items that are needed at the house, which range from dishes and bed sheets to kitchen supplies and cleaning supplies. 

Our club t-shirts are the yearly Ronald McDonald House t-shirts, so the money goes to support the Ronald McDonald House!  

Our club is good for others, it is good for your heart, and it looks great on your college transcripts!
