The first and only health science program in the district, North Forsyth offers unique pathways for students to graduate with specialized health certifications. We are partnered with nationally recognized medical facilities and universities to provide paid internships, mentoring opportunities, and scholarships. Our strong comprehensive academic program offers areas of concentration in nursing, emergency medicine, sports medicine, and animal science. 

We provide students with specialized coursework and extension activities that connect to the healthcare industry. The result is students who are certified to work in their field upon graduation and are well-prepared for further health science education at the university level. Certifications include EMT-1, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Veterinary Assistant.

We partner with Wake Forest University to provide paid internship opportunities through their Lab Experiences: Academics and Professions program which is offered every summer. Students can also participate in a paid internship with Novant Health during the school year or summer in their Bridges to Healthcare program.

North Forsyth and Salem College are exclusively partnered in the Soar with Salem program, funded by a NASA grant to encourage more girls to enter science, technology, engineering, and math careers. Students taking part in the program are exposed to many advanced learning opportunities and mentorships. They also receive full scholarships to attend Salem College after graduating from North.

Our $10 million brand-new state-of-the-art facility was completed in April 2023. The new magnet wing includes laboratories, kennels, enclosed outdoor space for our animals, patient space for students to learn and practice medical techniques, and more.
