Hello Glenn HS Parents, 

My name is Maribel de Rojas, I'm your GHS Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator.

As a Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator, my role is to serve as a connection between the school, the community, and the home to strengthen educational relationships and ensure your student's academic success.

These are some examples of how I can assist you:

●       Serve as a liaison between school and parents to communicate needs.

●       Promote support between school and home with parent-teacher conferences and home visits. 

●       Assist teachers and staff to work effectively and as equal partners.

●       Provide orientation for parents to address issues with school leadership.

●       Coordinate training sessions for families and staff on Family Engagement and its impact on student achievement to foster a culture of partnership and collaboration between the school and the home.

●       Provide referrals to community services for families and serve as an advocate to assure that student’s educational, social, emotional, and material needs are met by working with the social worker, school nurse, and guidance counselor.

●       Promote equitable power distribution with parents as decision-makers.

●       Help parents understand the education system as they become better advocates for their student's education.
