NC Work Permit

There are 3 steps to attain your Employment Certificate.

  1. Use this link to REGISTER for your YEID#, which you must provide to your new employer (make sure you jot down your YEID#).

  2. After your employer completes their part, you will receive an email – from the NC Department of Labor - with a link to electronically sign your certificate and provide your parent’s name and email; your parent’s email cannot be the same as your email address.

  3. Once you sign, your parent will receive an email for them to review your job duties, electronically sign, and submit your certificate.

After your parent clicks submit, your new employer will receive another email with a link to complete youth employment certificate (worker’s permit).
