Hello, Children's Center Family!

I am Anthony Poindexter, your new assistant principal and I am so excited to be joining you! I am a product of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and have taught in the district for about 20 years. I graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a bachelor's degree in Special Education Learning Disabilities and Gardner-Webb University with a master's degree in Educational Leadership Studies. When I started in Winston-Salem, I taught in our Hospital/Homebound Program, working mainly in hospital settings with students in grades K-12. After that, I transferred to Mount Tabor High School where I worked in the MAP program. I enjoyed that program because it allowed me to build relationships with my students and families during their time there. Most recently, I have been the assistant principal at N.L. Dillard Middle School in Caswell County for the past two and a half years.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, learning to quilt, and playing video games. I look forward to serving and working alongside the parents, students, and staff at The Children's Center for a long time.
