Meadowlark Middle's McAninch to move to West Forsyth High

JULY 18 - The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education unanimously chose Charles McAninch to be the new principal of West Forsyth High School at its meeting last night.

McAninch has been the principal of Meadowlark Middle School since 2009. He replaces Kurt Telford, who retired this summer.

Before coming to WS/FCS three years ago, McAninch worked for several years in Stokes County Schools. He was principal of West Stokes High School from 2005 to 2009 and principal of Meadowbrook Alternate School from 2003 to 2005.

McAninch also worked as an assistant principal at West Stokes High School and a language arts teacher at Northwest Middle School in Winston-Salem and Hertford County Middle School.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and a master’s degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
