Board names new principal for Kennedy

JUNE 13, 2012 – The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education has selected Leslie Atcher to be the principal of John F. Kennedy High School.

Atcher has been an assistant principal at Wiley Middle School since 2009. She replaces Kay Rogers, who is retiring.

Atcher has worked for WS/FCS as a curriculum coordinator at Paisley IB Magnet School, a literacy consultant and media coordinator at East Forsyth Middle School, a media specialist and writing and remediation specialist at Union Cross Elementary School and an English teacher at Glenn High School.

She has also worked as an educational consultant at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and a media specialist and staff development coordinator at Bishop McGuinness High School.

Atcher earned a bachelor’s degree from Guilford College, a master’s degree in library and information studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and an education specialist’s degree from Appalachian State University.
