The selection committee chose the finalists after observing the 10 semifinalists in their classrooms. The winner will be chosen after a round of interviews and announced on May 23.
The finalists are:
- Kim Abrams, a sixth-grade math and science teacher at Jefferson Middle School
- Sarah Garcia, an English teacher at West Forsyth High School
- Virginia Spaventa, an English-as-a-second-language teacher at Morgan Elementary School
- Colin Tribby, a music teacher at Paisley IB Magnet School
