Ms. Hess' Fourth Grade

Hello and welcome to the fourth grade!  This will be my second year teaching fourth grade at Diggs-Latham Elementary School.  I am excited to get started on another school year and learn about all of my students.  I grew up here in Winston-Salem and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Family Counseling.  In addition to working and volunteering as a counselor I worked as a museum educator teaching kids of all ages about North Carolina history.  I enjoyed teaching so much, I went on to get my teaching credentials at Salem College.

History is still one of my favorite subjects and I like to read every chance I get! My favorite thing to do is travel and learn about new places.

Why are there so many monsters?  Students will immediately notice a monster theme in my classroom.  Monsters come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, and the more unique they are the better! I want my students to dare to be different and creative.
