Beginning on January 18, we will be inactivating all substitute teachers that have not worked in the last 90 days. Any sub that has worked on or after October 18 will not be inactivated. If you would like to remain on the substitute list, please make sure that you work before January 18.

At this time we are accepting substitute applications. Please submit a on-line application . If you have submitted an application between March and August, please be patient, we are downloading applications on a first come, first served basis and those applicants chosen to attend orientation will be notified via e-mail. Please make sure that you check your e-mail bulk folder as well as your standard inbox for additional information. Applications submitted from August to December will need to be resubmitted to be considered.

Welcome to WS/FC Schools. WS/FC Schools is one of the largest systems in North Carolina and the 99th largest in the nation. We are proud of our 75 schools and the opportunities they offer. We recognize that substitute teachers are a critical member of our educational team. The Substitute department currently supports 42 Elementary Schools, 17 Middle Schools, and 16 High Schools, of which 10 are specialty schools. We serve approximately 55,000 students and 6200 teachers with approximately 1600 substitute teachers in the 75 schools. The goal of the substitute teacher program is to strive toward excellence in providing quality instruction and oversight for students while the regular assigned teacher is away.
