In honor of Music in Our Schools' Month, the Winston-Salem Symphony gathered volunteers to share orchestral instruments with some of our 5th grade students in a special hands-on way. The 5th grade students in Mrs. Schaefer's class won the Instrument Petting Zoo visit by being the 5th grade class to raise the most money for our annual Arts Council Fundraiser. Students rotated through four stations where instruments from the strings, percussion, woodwinds, and brass families were set up and waiting. These 5th graders had the opportunity to play instruments at each station with one-on-one help from a symphony volunteer! All in all, the Instrument Petting Zoo was a boisterous and memorable event for all! Thanks again to the Winston-Salem Symphony for helping us celebrate Music in Our Schools' Month.
