Coast Guard Visits Atkins
 
The United States Coast Guard visited Atkins on Friday March 23rd.   The Coast Guard ensures the safety and security of the oceans, coastal areas, and marine transportation system within America’s Mid-Atlantic Regions. At 09:00 hours“The Guardians of the Sea” HH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter descended onAtkins Football field with Marine Science Technician Chief Harry Hueston and a three person crew to allow Atkins students an up close an personal opportunity to interview and speak with the crew as well as inspect the HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and discuss technical aspects of the design and implementation of the HH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter and how it serves the specialty aspects of the United States Coast Guard. Atkins would like to extend a special thank you to Chief Harry Hueston for helping to make this happen for Atkins Academic and Technology High School, it was day the students and staff will never forget.
