Hello all! My name is Margo Long and I am the Certified Athletic Trainer here at Walkertown High School.
As for my personal background, I am a North Carolina girl, through and through! I spent most of my childhood growing up in Gastonia, NC which is southwest of Charlotte. I went to Ashbrook High School and graduated in 2004. From there I attended Catawba College in Salisbury, NC and earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2008. I passed the National Board of Certification Exam for Athletic Trainers in January of 2009 and was licensed in the state of North Carolina shortly thereafter. After graduating from Catawba I spent the next three years working as an intern in various settings to gain experience and to widen my knowledge base. I worked in Gastonia as a contract Athletic Trainer to two area high schools for one year. The next year I moved down to Statesboro, GA and was an intern Athletic Trainer at Georgia Southern University working with the football team in the fall and the track & field team in the spring. In the summer of 2010 I returned to my home state and worked as an intern Athletic Trainer at UNCG working with the cross country and softball teams. I came to Walkertown High School in the summer of 2011 and I have been a part of the Wolfpack ever since!
