Any student wishing to participate in sports next year (2017-2018) should complete the middle school participation packet and turn it in as early as possible. Completed packets can be turned in at open house, or during school.

Welcome to Hanes Athletics.  Our goal is to give every student an opportunity to participate in some type of athletics, interscholastic and/or intramurals.

Interscholastic Teams and Information

Interscholastic sports are offered to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. The sports offered at Hanes are listed in the table below. All sports, with the exception of cheerleading, have a boys and girls team.

Boys Soccer

Cross Country

Basketball - Varsity(8th & 7th),  JV (7th & 6th)

Girls Soccer

All students wishing to tryout for any sport must fully complete the Middle School Athletic Participation Packet, on or before the first day of tryouts. INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Students must also have an up-to-date (within the last 13 months) physical.

The forms may be picked up from the school (office, PE teachers, Athletic Directors, coaches), or downloaded from the Hanes Athletic website.

A student must have insurance coverage to participate in interscholastic sports.  Students wishing to apply for School Insurance may pick up the application form from the school.

Students must also meet attendance, academic, and discipline standards to be eligible for interscholastic athletic participation.  This will be listed under Hanes Athletic Eligibility Standards.

Intramurals Information

Intramurals will be open to all grade levels. Students wishing to participate in intramural activities must complete the Intramural Permission Form. The form must be fully complete and turned in before a student is allowed to participate.

Information about intramurals, including dates, times, grade level, gender, and type of activities, will be posted on the Hanes Athletic Website.
