The purpose of this class is to prepare the students to be more successful on the SAT test. We will accomplish this goal by learning specific strategies for taking the SAT and by learning tactics for each math and verbal section. Our activities in class will include necessary review of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry topics, practicing strategies on practice tests, and analyzing errors made in the decisions that lead to your answer choices. We will also work with high-frequency SAT words, roots, prefixes, and suffixes. We will explore the top grammar topics covered on previous tests and we will learn and put to use ideas for the essay portion of the test. Practice is essential for mastery, and a lot of instructional time will be spent with hands-on practice tests. Additionally, we will spend some time discussing both the purpose and the rewards of the SAT. Students will be expected to contemplate possible college choices in order to develop a tangible goal for test success.

This program works!! Just ask your friends that have taken the course and then taken the SAT. The only requirement is that you put forth the effort to let the program help you. Your score will climb proportionately to the amount of effort you put into this class. Students must be focused and use class time wisely to ensure improvement.
