Teacher Recommendations When asking a teacher to write a recommendation, ask EARLY so they have time to write a thoughtful letter. Wondering how your SAT or ACT scores stack up when applying to colleges in North Carolina? With the help of one of our awesome seniors from the Class of 2013, we have compiled freshmen profiles for schools in the UNC system as well as other private colleges/universities in North Carolina. Financial aid specialists will be available at the CFNC Call Center, 866-86-CFNC (2362) from 5-8pm each Tuesday in February (Feb 5, 12, 19 and 26) to answer questions that students or their families may have about the FAFSA. While FAFSA Day is designed to help participants complete the entire form, the FAFSA Phone-In service is offered to help individuals who are completing the FAFSA on their own and are seeking answers to a few of the questions asked on the FAFSA. African American Scholarship List ![]() "Going to College without Going Broke" Ms. Norris, with the help of CFNC, brings you this thrifty hand-out to help you save a few bucks. | mILITARY SERVICES Students who are interested in exploring their military options should take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). The test is designed to identify a student's aptitudes and strengths. Taking the ASVAB does NOT obligate a student to the military. If you would like more information go to asvabprogram.com. The ASVAB was conducted at Reagan on Dec 7, 2012. If you missed signing up for the ASVAB during the 2012-13 school year, you will have another opportunity during the 2013-14 school year. All 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students are eligible to take the test. Also, students are permitted to take the ASVAB all three years. For students interested in joining the military after high school, taking the ASVAB in the 10th grade will be a practice test and then 11th and 12th grade scores can be used for entrance into the military.
