Mrs. T and Eva Grace on the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel
I am indeed honored to have a part in teaching the bright young scholars here at the Career Center! While this is my second year teaching English at the Career Center, this will be my fourteenth year with the public schools of North Carolina. After receiving my teaching degree from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC, my husband and I settled in Alamance County, NC, where I began my teaching career at the middle school level teaching 6th and 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies. My first high school "gig" was at East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, where I spent four years developing my skills in English instruction, and during which time I earned both National Board Certification in Adolescent/Young Adult English and Advanced Placement certification in Language and Composition. After leaving East Forsyth, I continued to educate young minds at Reagan High School, where I was able to experience the rewards of teaching children in my own community for five wonderful years. I am also currently (slowly but surely!) working my way towards completion of a Master's degree in Multicultural/Transnational literature. I am hoping that the many different types of teaching experiences I bring with me to the Career Center will have a positive impact on my students and colleagues alike. I look forward to an exciting and challenging year!
