I was born in Alexandria, Virginia, just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.  I grew up in Burke, Virginia and graduated from Lake Braddock Secondary School.

I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Tech, where I studied communications, which included subjects such as television production, public speaking and public relations. While I was in college, I did various odd jobs, like working at company picnics and for a friend's lawn mowing service. I also worked in retail sales for three summers.

After college, I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. I spent four years in the military, stationed mainly at Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point. Also included was a five month tour in the Mediterranean Sea aboard the USS Wasp, where I was able to visit Spain, Italy, Bosnia, Tunisia and more.

When my four year enlistment ended, I moved to Winston-Salem. I began working in the television business while pursuing my Master's in Business Administration from UNCG. Six years and two layoffs later, I began teaching at North Forsyth in 2006.

This is my first year at Mount Tabor. I have taught Computer Applications I, Career Management, Sports & Entertainment Marketing I, Sports & Entertainment Marketing II and Strategic Marketing (Honors). Doing well in my classes requires regular attendance, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
