On April 7th, 2010, the VIP for a VIP program visited Mt. Tabor High School to send a very blunt message about the dangers of careless decisions. Juniors and Seniors at Mt. Tabor attended a morning program to hear from representatives of different emergency response organizations and from the father of a deceased teen who died in a car accident. In the afternoon, they also attended a re-enactment of a crash of a teen into a telephone pole. The Sheriff's department, W-S Fire department, EMS Ambulance services, and the VIP program coordinated to show the students and faculty the sights, sounds, and smells of this horrifying event, complete with distraught parents rushing to the scene after the Jaws of Life had been used to pull the teen's body from the car. Mr. Weiss and the VIP officials urged teens to take that one more second to think about their decisions and pleaded with them to wear their seatbelts, not drink and drive, not text while driving, and to think about what their bad decisions will do to their parents and friends, as well as themselves.
