With the start of the 2012-13 school year, Mr. Applegate begins his 15th year in education and 3rd year as part of the Administrative Team at Mount Tabor. Prior to coming to Tabor, Mr. Applegate worked at rival Ronald Reagan High School as a social studies teacher and football and baseball coach for 5 years. Originally from NJ, Mr. Applegate spent 8 years in the Toms River Regional School District as both a teacher and coach.
Before entering the field of education, Mr. Applegate spent 5 years working in collegiate and professional athletics. From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Applegate worked as a Recreation Specialist and Assistant Baseball Coach for Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida and from 1995 to 1997 he worked for the Toronto Blue Jays professional baseball organization as a Marketing Coordinator for Spring Training and the Class A Dunedin Blue Jays in Dunedin, Florida.
Mr. Applegate holds M.S. degrees in two different disciplines. He received his M.S. in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA in 2007 and an M.S. in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida in 1995. Mr. Applegate also received a B.A. in History and Political Science from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. While at Lynn, Mr. Applegate was a scholarship athlete as a member of the Fighting Knights baseball team in 1991 and 1992. Mr. Applegate began his collegiate career at Gettysburg College where he played both football and baseball from 1987-89.
