End-of-Year Testing

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools gives end-of-grade (EOGs) and end-of-course (EOCs) tests at the end of every school year. These tests show how students are progressing each year, and the state and federal governments use them to show how schools are performing. High school students also take exams for their classes.

Students in grades 3 through 8 will take reading and math EOGs May 29-30. Students in grades 5 and 8 will take science EOGs May 20-24. High schools will take exams from May 28 to June 11. (Middle school students taking high school courses such as Algebra I take the EOC in this time frame, too.)

Testing can be stressful for students, so we have put this section together to help them and their parents.
