• Symphonic Band Schedule for February & March

Posted by Marc Schaub at 2/11/2013 1:00:00 AM

February 25 – After School Rehearsal, 4-5:30 pm

Be in the band room, ready to rehearse at 3:55 pm so that we can start promptly at 4:00.  Do not be late to this rehearsal!

February 26 – MPA Preview Concert & Clinic, 6:15-8:45 pm

Dress: Because this is an ‘informal’ performance, dress is ‘Sunday Best’ for this concert.  Gentlemen should wear pants (no shorts) and a shirt with a collar; Ladies should wear something nice, just be sure if you wear a skirt, it is of appropriate length for the stage!

    Schedule:

      • At 6:15 pm, be in the designated audience seating with your instrument.  The Concert Band will perform at 6:30, followed by Symphonic Band.
      • Immediately following your performance, we will have a clinic with W.C. Lanning
      • Dismissal will be at 8:45 pm

Parents: You are welcome and encouraged to attend this performance!  The structure is a little different from most of our concerts, because we are preparing for Music Performance Adjudication, and so we’ll be using the ‘clinic’ time after the performance for the ensemble to get some feedback and help from Ms. Golden.

March 11 – After School Rehearsal, 4-5:30 pm

Be in the band room, ready to rehearse at 3:55 pm so that we can start promptly at 4:00.  Do not be late to this rehearsal!

March 12 – MPA Field Trip to Lenoir, NC

Dress: Band formalwear.  Tux for guys, band dress for girls

The Schedule for this event is TBD, but you should start making plans to arrive at school early that morning, as our performance times will be before lunch and we have to travel to the Broyhill Performing Arts Center in Lenoir.  We should be back before the end of the school day.

Parents: Once again, you are welcome and encouraged to attend this performance.  We will need a couple of chaperones, in fact, so please let me know if you are interested.

March 26 – Percussion Ensembles Concert, 6-8 pm (Percussion Only)

Dress: Band formalwear.  Tux for guys, band dress for girls

Schedule: Report to the stage at 6 pm.  Concert begins at 7 pm
