Friends of Rachel (FOR) Club

Meets every Tuesday from 2:45 - 3:30 in Room 114.

Paisley’s Friends of Rachel Club (FOR) began on October 24, 2011 following the Rachel’s Challenge event to continue a chain reaction of kindness.  One hundred students were trained to be leaders in the newly formed club.  The weekly meetings will be held during lunch.  An after school meeting with all the grade level clubs will be held approximately once each quarter to coordinate large projects.  This club is open to all students who want to make a positive impact on the school and community.  We need parents who can help with the club meetings as well as the large and small events.

Here are some possible activities of the club:

o  Work on large projects to promote kindness
o   Plan and perform weekly acts of kindness for individuals and groups (Bus drivers, cafeteria workers, neighbors)
o  Targeted kindness for students who are bullied or need help with social skills
o  Consistent writing of letters of appreciation and love to others
o  Welcoming committee for new students.
o  Help those in need with fundraisers, help in major illness or other crisis.
o   “Mix it up day” once each month when different cliques sit together at lunch.
