About Me
I earned my undergraduate degree in elementary and middle grades education from Pfeiffer University in 1984. I am certified to teach language arts, science, social studies and AG. I attended UNCC to obtain my graduate degree in reading and my advanced certification in administration. After working as a middle school teacher for 11 years, I accepted a position as an assistant principal at Central Davidson Middle School in Davidson County. I worked there for three years before accepting the principalship at Pilot Elementary School. In 2003, I was named principal of Fair Grove Elementary. I served as principal at Fair Grove until I was named principal of Lewisville Elementary in September of 2007. After serving as the principal of Lewisville for five years, I accepted a transfer to Griffith Elementary. Griffith serves a wonderful community and has a very dedicated teaching staff.
My husband, Randall, and I have been married for more than 25 years. We met at a scholarship banquet during our senior year in high school and married a couple of years after graduating from college. Randall is an electrical engineer. While we do not have children of our own, I feel as though I have 500 because I consider the students at Griffith Elementary to be my extended family. Randall and I reside in Clemmons.
During my free time, I enjoy walking for exercise, hiking and reading. I try to walk 2 to 4 miles each day. My favorite color is yellow and my favorite food is chocolate. Randall and I like to travel. One of our favorite North Carolina destinations is the Outer Banks.
