Character is an important part of who we are at Kernersville Elementary. It starts with our "ROAR Into Success" schoolwide expectations. Students and Staff are held to the same accountability everyday. We also teach character as one of our specials so that each child has a lesson coordinated with the Character Word of the Week. Around the school you will see bulletin boards with ROAR, and the character word of the week. Every morning students are reminded of the character word and how they can use it to make their daily choices.
We invite you to join in our efforts to make character count. Use the links to the left to learn how ROAR encourages pawsome behavior or to learn the ROAR song. Keep up with the character words and discuss the questions at home with your student. Ask your child what they learned with Mrs. Turner and Ms. Kessler during their character class. Be involved and show your child that having good character is important to you!
