Student Services Scholarship Bulletin
Volume 7 Number 1 September 14, 2010
Welcome to the first edition of the 2010-2011 Student Services Scholarship Bulletin. Throughout the year, you will receive timely updates on scholarships as they are received in the Student Services office. Please read each bulletin carefully and apply for the scholarships for which you have the qualifications. Scholarship opportunities vary widely and each sponsor sets the qualification criteria. You may apply for scholarships either online or by completing a paper application. A web address will be provided for those scholarships that require an online application. Instructions to see Ms. Withers in Student Services will be included for those that require a paper application.
Most scholarships are open to any student who meets the specific qualifications and do not require a school nomination. For other scholarships, a limited number of students may be nominated from the school. Nominations for these scholarships are made by the Scholarship Committee, which consists of teachers, counselors and administrators.
A note about deadlines: It is crucial that you adhere to the advertised deadlines. For scholarships that require online applications, the actual receive deadline will be listed. For scholarships that require a paper application and are submitted by the school, a deadline to turn those into Ms. Withers PRIOR to the actual scholarship deadline will be posted. This is to insure that the scholarship sponsor receives the applications by their established deadline. Deadlines for scholarships that require a school nomination are set well ahead of the scholarship deadline to ensure proper amount of time for the committee selection process.
Senior Parent Info Night: A special night for seniors and their parents/guardians will be held on September 23rd, beginning at
