mentor

The TJMS Patriot Pal mentoring program pairs students with a staff member  who will offer guidance and support with academics, achievement, behavior, attendance, and social issues.

Mentors will meet with students daily, weekly or monthly depending on need.  Along with student and teacher input, mentors will develop and work on goals with the student.  Mentors will utilize time during the day like before school, lunch, recess, etc. to work with students and reward them for successfully completing goals.

In addition, each month, there will be Focus Sessions relative to character traits like Self-Control, Honesty, Anger Management, Conflict Resolution, Managing Stress, etc.

What is a Patriot Pal?
Patriot Pal Mentors are Thomas Jefferson Middle School employees who commit to working with a student for one year.
