    Speas Elementary

    A Man of many talents

Gus Hummings of Speas Elementary is part of a team to ensure that our faculty, staff and most importantly, our students receive a healthy and delicious meal in a clean environment. Though most days he plays the role of a dishwasher, he is often seen stocking and cooking. Before working in the cafeteria, Gus was a custodian at Speas. September will mark his 8 year anniversary with the Speas Elementary School family.

Being the father of five sons brings about a lot of community volunteer opportunities. Gus took that opportunity by the reigns and volunteered at organizations such as the Salvation Army Boy’s Club. He has also served as a coach for local community basketball and football organizations.

Mr. Hummings is also very active in his church home of Fellowship Bible Baptist Church. There he serves as a Trustee, a group of appointed members that work together to ensure that the church is cared for and maintained well, amongst other duties.

The WS/FC Schools and the CAC would like to thank Mr. Hummings for his commitment in ensuring that our students are well fed in a clean environment every day. The work that you do is critical to the operation of our school system. Thank you for all that you do to make our school a better place to work and learn.
