Welcome to Homebound |
Donna Klein Homebound Teacher Hospital Homebound Education Center 2020 E. 12th Street Winston Salem, NC 27101 cell: 462-2064 Donna Klein's Home Page Welcome to Homebound! Homebound students are seen if they have any major illness, or disability that prevents them from participating in the regular classroom. These students may remain on Homebound for the entire year or only for a few weeks. Homebound students are seen twice a week for two hour sessions. Their assignments are picked up from the regular classroom teacher. Homebound students are expected to do homework, which is then turned into the classroom teacher once a week and, at this time, new assignments are picked up, and completed, graded homework returned. |
Let me introduce myself. My name is Donna Klein and I have been an exceptional children's teacher for 11 years. I was in the regular classroom until six years ago, when I was invited to join the Homebound Team. We are a creative group of teachers who call ourselves "The Road Scholars" because we're on the road so much. I like art, music, drama, poetry, writng, dancing, listening to music, singing, acting, and good intellectual conversations. I use these types of activities with my students to make learning more exciting, memorable and enjoyable. I have three married children- Jeff, Melissa, and Alexandra and 5 lovely, lively grandchildren- Nicolas, Shaina, Julia, Hunter, and Ella. I have traveled quite a bit; all over the U.S., and also to Bermuda, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and St. John's, Brazil, and the Greek Islands. I have sailed in a 47 foot sailboat around France in the Mediterranean Sea for six weeks, and have cruised to the Bahamas. I like to laugh a lot and am always reading and going to classes to learn new things and expand my world view. Life is very good! |
