Porter's Academic Biography: I graduated from "the" University of Mississippi. I received my under-graduate degree in English Education. I began teaching English the year my first son was born. my teaching career lastfor seven years - until my youngest son began to walk and was entirely to much to handle and having a husband climbing the corporate ladder. I stayed at home for fourteen years and traveled the southeast with my husband's career and entertained moving adventures around every four years. I did mange to have a very successful career in Interior Design and Real Estate. Upon arriving in North Carolina - for the the "second tour" - I decied to try my hand in education, once again. I subbed for one year, only at West, and was blessed with the offer of a job in the business Department the second year. I have been back in my own classroom presently starting my nineteenth year. It has been a defightful experience and I have found a home, once again, in the classroom and a West Forsyth.
